The dress box your granddaughter opens.
Ordinary storage is how wedding dresses yellow. Plastic covers trap moisture; cardboard and standard tissue are acidic, and acid is exactly what slowly turns ivory to amber.
Our preservation box is museum-grade: acid-free board, acid-free tissue between every fold, your dress laid — never crushed — so it can rest for decades. It’s how a dress waits for an anniversary, a daughter, or simply the pleasure of opening the box.
Add it to any dress clean for £85.
The marks of a wonderful day.
Hem dirt from the dance floor. Champagne and prosecco — invisible now, but they yellow with time. Makeup at the neckline, fake tan at the zip, grass from the photographs. We see them all, and we know what each one needs.
Beading, sequins, lace and delicate trims are assessed by hand before any cleaning begins. If we find anything that needs a judgement call, we photograph it and ask you first — your dress, your decision, always.
Questions brides ask us
Sooner is better than later — some of the most damaging marks (champagne, perfume, perspiration) are invisible at first and slowly oxidise into yellow stains over months. But don’t let time put you off: dresses from years ago routinely come up beautifully, and we’ll always give you an honest assessment of what’s achievable.
Almost never. Aged yellowing and set-in marks are harder than fresh ones, but the transformation is often the most dramatic we do. We’ll inspect, photograph and tell you honestly what we expect to achieve before any work begins.
You select the band matching what you paid for your dress (or its replacement value). It sets your price and — importantly — the insurance cover that protects your dress door to door. If you’re between bands, choose the higher: it’s your cover.
Yes — from the moment DPD collects it to the moment it’s back in your hands, including all the time it’s with us, up to your declared value band. It travels in a dedicated dress box, tracked at every step.
Every dress is assessed by hand before cleaning. Glued embellishments, fragile vintage lace and loose beadwork are exactly the things we check for — and if we find a risk, we contact you with photographs before proceeding. Nothing happens to your dress without your say-so.
If the dress is going back in a wardrobe for years — yes, honestly. Standard storage is what causes yellowing. If you’re planning to sell, lend or alter the dress soon, the acid-free tissue wrap included with every clean is enough.
7–10 working days door to door. Wedding dresses are never rushed — if yours needs longer for a specialist treatment, we’ll tell you and agree it with you first.
Yes — add a veil (£15), wedding shoes (£25) or a bridesmaid dress (£75) to your order and everything travels and returns together.
You don’t need anything — we post you a complete packing kit: a dress transit box, acid-free tissue, step-by-step instructions and your prepaid DPD label, normally with you within two working days. Fold the dress loosely with the tissue between the layers, seal the box, and drop it at any DPD point. If you’re unsure about anything, email us a photo and we’ll help.
It held the best day. Now hold onto it.
